Location: Toronto, ON
MAIN DUTIES
-Manage the traffic department as well as develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs.
-Responsible for 2 direct reports and Material Handlers in Toronto and Calgary
-Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce
-Evaluate and report on KPIs, ensure cost, productivity, accuracy and targets are met
-Negotiate prices with customs brokers and rectify customer issues
-Maintain close relationships with the accounting department
-Interact with in-house partner in the USA to discuss custom issues
-Spearhead staff meetings and participate in corporate meetings
-Contribute to the profitability of the company
-Perform export tasks
.Adhoc duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
-University Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management (a definite asset)
-8-10 years experience in logistics management and customs or a related field
– Strong knowledge of logistics processes including warehouse distribution
-Experience working in a manufacturing and industrial setting
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Sound knowledge of MS Word and Excel
-Previous export experience
